FAQ

WHAT DOES JIEMAO JIEMAO MEAN?

Jiemao means eyelash in Mandarin.

HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE JIEMAO?

"Jay-mao".

ARE LASH EXTENSIONS FOR ME?

They are definitely for you if you feel that your natural lashes are too short, thin, sparse, straight, light or there are simply just not enough. You will have a low maintenance routine where you can just wake up and walk out the door looking dolled up without applying any makeup (this will save you so much time in the morning). Lash extensions will also keep you looking glam at the gym, beach, and basically anywhere else you go where you usually wouldn't wear make up.

DO THEY DAMAGE MY REAL LASHES?

Lash extensions NEVER damage your real lashes if you go to a Lash Specialist that has been trained by a credible course with a good reputation. There are many credible courses out there that don't teach the correct and updated techniques so be very careful.

If the lash extensions are not applied properly isolating each lash from each other with the correct amount of glue away from your skin, this is when the damage comes in. Applying lash extensions takes time so be wary of anyone or any salons out there that offer quick and cheap lash extensions.

DOES IT HURT?

Lash extensions should NEVER hurt before or after the process. You should not feel your lash extensions at all.

HOW LONG DOES THE LASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

This really depends on the after care you provide for them. If you are maintaining your lash extensions to be full it is recommended that you get a Touch Up (refill) every 2-3 weeks for Classic Individual Lashes. Russian Volume Lashes tend to last longer (because there's actually more lashes) so 3-4 weeks is recommended if you have Russian Volume Lashes. If you are just wearing them for a one-off, they will all fall off in about 5 weeks when your lash cycle is over (when all  your lashes shed).

WHY IS MINK LASH EXTENSIONS NOT INCLUDED AS ONE OF YOUR TREATMENTS?

Here at Jiemao Lashes we believe in being animal cruelty free. Mink lash extensions also don't hold their curl as well as synthetic fibre lash extensions. We also try to avoid anything that can give you an allergy, so if you are allergic to animal hair, there is a possibility you can get an allergic reaction to mink lash extensions.

We're conscious that some clients may still ask for mink lash extensions. However, given the treatment of animals in obtaining these products, we will not offer them to our clients. We hope you understand and, like us, consider the wellbeing of animals to be more important than the kind of lash extensions we use.

Alternatively, we do stock many different types of lash extensions. We have many different brands, curls, lengths, and colours (even brown and blacker lashes than the ones you already have on)! If we happen to not have what you want, we will have it ready for you on your next visit with us!

I WOULD LIKE TO GET A FULL SET OF LASH EXTENSIONS. WHEN SHOULD I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

We recommend for you to book an appointment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. It would be a real bummer not just for you, but for us if you couldn't get your lashes done when you wanted to.
